IPE receives, once again this year, 4 top recommendations at the FINAT awards

Once again, FINAT- International Federation of Self- Adhesive Label Manufacturers- has given 4 top recommendations to our labels in the annual awards competition organised by this association.

The labels have stood out for their technical levels of printing as well as for their communication capacity with the end client.

All of them represent a wide range of technical capacities that IPE-Innovaciones Para Etiquetajes S.L.- can apply in labelling solutions: technology combinations, technical capacity, use of complex materials, multiple finishing options, etc....

The top recommendations awarded by FINAT were for our labels:

"Recuérdame" by Vallformosa, a label that stands out for its print quality and the combination of technologies applied to achieve a unique label that, in addition to transmitting an elegant image, also incorporates a communication tool- a "recuérdame"- (remember me) coupon aimed at establishing a bond between the consumer and the brand.

Flor de Vetus: A sophisticated label achieved thanks to the combination of different print techniques along with other details like a tactile varnish that gives it a touch of distinction and furnishes the label with tact.
We would highlight the application carried out with a thermo-chromic ink that indicates, through colour changes in a fine butterfly, the right temperature to drink the wine.

Planas Albareda: A label where the details are the highlights as this label has effects and combinations that are rather complex regarding the material chosen to print and the applied impressions. Hot impression and just one-time print that has allowed us to create this high quality label that loyally represents the combination between a modern style and, at the same time, a traditional image of this cava’s production brand.

Libalis:

An original and attractive sleeve where the coordination between IPE, designers and client has been fundamental to achieve a different and exclusive image, full of details. From the technical point of view the combination of inks and a matt finish effect are two of the main characteristics of this unique design.

Labels that help the manufacturer: Product piracy

Piracy and falsification of products, especially in the cosmetics industry (creams, perfumes, etc..) but also in food and drink products, is a reality that many manufacturers have to face up to.

According to a survey carried out some time ago by ANDEMA*, 17% of companies in the Drinks sector have had some type of brand usurpation problem, and in the case of the Food sector the percentages are around 12% and 4% for the Cosmetics sector.

For this reason the demand for intelligent packaging and labels is on the increase, as very often they are the only option manufacturers have to guarantee the authenticity of their products.

And so there are different types of secure labelling that can help the manufacturer and protect the consumer against piracy.

The authenticity Guarantee labels are aimed at fighting against falsification as they incorporate a hologram that assures the customer that the product is original

There are also the interactive labels which, although they are not aimed at guaranteeing the authenticity of the product, they can suppose a barrier against falsification.

We invite you to consult which are the best options to protect your product against piracy by sending us an e-mail to marketing@ipe-innovaciones.com.

Labels that help the consumer

Description of “label”(according to the dictionary): Brand, sign or tag placed on an object or on merchandise for its identification, evaluation, classification, etc.

Up to this point the definition, however, we all know that a label, sleeve or any other type of packaging is much more than just an element to identify a product. The label is an excellent communication tool between the brand and the customer and, in many cases, helps the consumer about how and when to use the product.

Clear examples of how a label can become more than just an element of identification are the labels on medicines or prescription free pharmaceutical products.

These types of products include, very often in leaflet form, an important amount of information referring to indications, warnings, dosage etc... but ...
  • where does the consumer note down the last time he/she took the product?
  • when should it be taken again?
  • what product dose or amount should be taken next time?...

these are just some of the questions that consumers frequently ask about products like vitamin supplements, de-flea products for pets, oral cosmetics, etc.. amongst other examples.

Even though there are ways to carry out additional controls for all this information, the simplest way to make use easier is to include a support in the product itself that allows us to note down the indications of use.

The multi-page-booklets labels  or  neck labels are ideal to satisfy this need.

We can also take a step forward and adapt to our new times with the interactive labels.

The
interactive labels use image recognition technology through a camera to identify any type of object in real time: photos, logos, drawings, faces, bidi codes, QR, barcodes. Once the image is recognised, the application searches for the associated multimedia content through the Internet and superimposes it dynamically, offering multiple interactive applications: animated 3D models, videos, images, texts, interactive menus, audio and music and social data or any customised programming that the brand has developed.

In this way the product, through an image on the label, can link to instructions of use, calendar for taking the medicine or any other application that eases and guarantees correct consumption and even help in the creation of alarms and warnings for the consumer directly into his/her e-mail or telephone.

It is therefore about looking for the most suitable option in every case in order to make the labelling more than just an identification element and to turn it into a real help for the consumer during his/her experience whilst using the product
