The era of experiences: Marketing of Experiences


The marketing of experiences- also known as sensorial or experiential marketing – seeks to create bonds with the consumer through emotional concepts that humanise a brand. 

It is about reaching the "consumer’s heart" and creating a brand loyalty bond between the consumer and his/her relationship and experiences with the products.

And nowadays it isn’t enough just to have a good product!
A good product is something that is practically “taken for granted”; price has also lost power in the list of determining purchasing factors, times have changed and now it’s not about selling, it’s about betting on the consumer-brand bond that will allow for a long-term relationship and that will differentiate the product from the competition’s.

In order to work the marketing of experiences we need to “humanise” the brand and bring it to life. Know our consumers very well, what their daily life is like, their lifestyle, their needs beyond the product, advance their future needs, which means paying a lot of attention to the consumer and converting the product into a tool that not only fulfils its main aim but also offers him/her additional benefits.

Marketing professionals no longer speak about “normal consumers”, they speak about the Crossumer, a concept that defines the new consumer, more intelligent, more informed, more demanding, difficult to impress and who “passes the product barrier" looking for a purchasing experience.

In this sense the label can become another element within the brand’s marketing and communication strategy.

Much more than labels: different ways to interact with the consumer
  • Aromatic labels:  Aromatic labels are an excellent option to incorporate standard or personalised aromas so that the label becomes a sensorial experience for the consumer.
  • Thermo-chromatic labels: A fundamental help for some types of products given that, through the label, the consumer can know about – for example- the temperature of the product to be consumed. A good example of this type of label can be found in the label that IPE developed for FLOR DE VETUS, a label with thermo-chromatic ink that changes colour to indicate the ideal temperature to drink their wine.
  • Scratch labels:  Scratch labels are another option to take into consideration if we are looking for experiences based on games, competitions, etc.. 
...... however, Interactive Labels  are ideal to create an experiences strategy around the brand as they undoubtedly offer many possibilities that can be included in the product and, through the labelling, a series of experiences that will establish a bond with the consumer associating a label with multimedia content that is highly realistic are undoubtedly a very powerful tool for the consumers to have unique product experiences.
An example of experience marketing:
The "most basic and simplest" label can also be used to create consumer experiences. Coca Cola recently announced its campaign called "Share a Coke" which will launch personalised labels in 32 countries.
In order to do so, Coca Cola compiled an average of the 150 most common names in each country.  The labels for all the names that don’t appear in the limited series can be ordered through a Facebook application. 

In this way Coca Cola seeks to get closer and to better connect with its consumers, undoubtedly a good example of experience marketing

ARTIFICIAL VISION: WHAT IS IT? Artificial vision is a technology that allows us to control the entire label printing process and to determine whether they reach quality standards.

HOW DOES IT WORK?  Through the installation of a camera and control software to compare the labels with the reference label.
1).-PRINTING:          
Exhaustive comparison between the label and the master.



2).-SUPERVISION:
Certification of what falls outside specifications.

3).-QUALITY CONTROL

Information about defects is sent to revision and cutting machines. 
The order to print is given once it has been verified that the labels to be printed are identical to the reference labels.

IPE, Innovaciones Para Etiquetajes S.L, was present at the 40th Anniversary celebrations of the Italian company Prati.

For the Italian company Prati’s XL Anniversary the management of IPE INNOVACIONES PARA ETIQUETAJES S.L.- represented by LLuís Egea (Managing Director) and Francesc Egea (Assistant Manager) had the pleasure of being able to participate in the well-known Italian company’s celebrations that were recently organised in Label Expo 2013.

Therefore, IPE INNOVACIONES PARA ETIQUETAJES joins in the greetings offered by all those present at the event and wishes the new PRATI S.L.’s management a long and successful business career, acknowledging its great contribution to the label manufacturing sector with its new machine developments and its constant innovation.

From IPE we wish them continuity in this excellent track record that the company has been carrying out since it was founded in 1973 by the Prati family and we hope we can celebrate future anniversaries of both companies together.

When a label deserve to shine on both sides....




There are products that deserve to shine and stand out, for their quality, for their careful image, for their recognition, for their prestige.....

I YOUNG DESIGNER COMPETITION


We will soon be setting up the "Laboratory of Ideas" competition, an event aimed at young designers who are currently studying graphic design/audio-visual communication.
The competitors must present a graphic proposal that defines the "Laboratory of Ideas" concept.
What is the Laboratory of Ideas?: This is a work methodology aimed at encouraging joint work between customer-designer and the label manufacturer right from the start of the label design creation.
Why? because our fifty years plus in the sector have shown us that 
... maybe the designer doesn’t know about some of the multiple finish options (inks, materials, combinations of print technique...) that are available to develop the labels, sleeves and packaging.
.....maybe the customer has a need and there is no specific application for it, but IPE, Innovaciones Para Etiquetajes S.L. can custom-create it.
Conclusively, the result is innovation and exclusivity by being able to combine all the designer’s, customer’s and printer’s know-how to find a unique label that adapts to the product’s needs.

IPE LABORATORY OF IDEAS: VALLFORMOSA PRACTICAL CASE

Some time ago in this blog we informed you about our Laboratory of Ideas, a work methodology aimed at offering the latest developments in our sector; materials, inks, printing processes, etc.. so as to develop new products and customised projects.

With the intention of explaining how this work methodology works, we leave you with an example of a successful* customised project, carried out along with our customer and the label designer.

NECESIDAD ( NEED)
FunctionalityLabel for Cava brand that sought to establish communication and a relationship with the consumer: Loyalty
Label designSophisticated, elegant image, combination of rose coloured inks that easily identify the product: rosé cava-pinot noir.


PROPOSAL
FunctionalityInclude a promotional element on the label (voucher) in order to reward customer loyalty and to motivate repeat buying under the concept “remember me”. The label stops being a static element.
Design and applications: Combination of technologies (offset-flexography and hot stamping). Selection of material in line with the printing and design level requirements.


SOLUTION
High quality label with a sophisticated design and image.
Different combined printing technologies to offer multi-level stamping to the entire print in a material that transmits quality and elegance.

In addition the label is completed with a printed text on the back for the “remind me” coupon included in the label, to comply with the brand communication objectives which aim to establish better relations with consumers and obtain repeat purchases.

IPE receives, once again this year, 4 top recommendations at the FINAT awards

Once again, FINAT- International Federation of Self- Adhesive Label Manufacturers- has given 4 top recommendations to our labels in the annual awards competition organised by this association.

The labels have stood out for their technical levels of printing as well as for their communication capacity with the end client.

All of them represent a wide range of technical capacities that IPE-Innovaciones Para Etiquetajes S.L.- can apply in labelling solutions: technology combinations, technical capacity, use of complex materials, multiple finishing options, etc....


The top recommendations awarded by FINAT were for our labels:


"Recuérdame" by Vallformosa, a label that stands out for its print quality and the combination of technologies applied to achieve a unique label that, in addition to transmitting an elegant image, also incorporates a communication tool- a "recuérdame"- (remember me) coupon aimed at establishing a bond between the consumer and the brand.







Flor de Vetus: A sophisticated label achieved thanks to the combination of different print techniques along with other details like a tactile varnish that gives it a touch of distinction and furnishes the label with tact. 
We would highlight the application carried out with a thermo-chromic ink that indicates, through colour changes in a fine butterfly, the right temperature to drink the wine.






Planas Albareda: A label where the details are the highlights as this label has effects and combinations that are rather complex regarding the material chosen to print and the applied impressions. Hot impression and just one-time print that has allowed us to create this high quality label that loyally represents the combination between a modern style and, at the same time, a traditional image of this cava’s production brand.








Libalis: 

An original and attractive sleeve where the coordination between IPE, designers and client has been fundamental to achieve a different and exclusive image, full of details. From the technical point of view the combination of inks and a matt finish effect are two of the main characteristics of this unique design.
